Pep Clotet gives update on McEachran deal. The lack of progress worries me – Report

|

It looks as if we could be waiting a little while longer for the deal to go through.

The Josh McEachran trial has been doing on for some time now, and there are some fans who are eagerly anticipating the day that he finally puts pen to paper. Blue manager Pep Clotet recently spoke about the situation and said that the potential deal is still some way away from being completed:

“There is still no news in that department. He is getting fitter, we will probably take a little bit more time because I think it is fairer to judge him now he is fitter and with everyone back in training. That will probably be another week. I would rather hold my thoughts for now.”

Is it me or does this deal feel like it’s being dragged out unnecessarily long? It has been ten days since we first caught wind that McEachran was on trial with us, but

I understand that the club wants to take their time over the deal and make sure that everything is right, but at the same time are we not potentially missing out on a player that could make a real difference to the squad?

He has received backing from one of his former teammates in Harlee Dean, so it’s not as if Clotet is going into this situation completely blind, he has some background knowledge on the matter from him.

I spoke before that I was concerned that the time this deal was taking could eventually cost the club if he ends up being snatched by another team. However now my main concern is that the longer this takes, the higher the possibility that we end up dropping points in a game that he could really make a real difference in.

What about you? Are you glad that the club is doing its due diligence and taking its time over the deal? Or do you think that the club needs to hurry up and bring him into the team as soon as possible?
