Someday, someone, will see the ‘Wow Factor’ needed at Birmingham City

|

Someday, sometime in future years, our beloved Club Birmingham City will earn a ‘Wow Factor’ accolade and we as supporters dearly hope it is within our lifetime.

At our B9 base we struggle with image amidst other clubs who almost re-brand overnight by building new impressive home headquarters. Very expensive and financially risky, I readily admit, unless you have a cracking squad of players who would be comfortably placed in the Premier League for season after season.

All fantasy thoughts then yes, but this 1875 institution of ours needs a new ‘birthday’, which sees it start again with fresh everything. This, of course, can only come with money and rich owners. Hard as nails to find. Once found however and the potential realised then the future generations of Bluenoses will be in dreamland.

As of now, battle-hardened fans have to endure the dour headlines thrown up about our club, the negative press, the dramas within etc…all taking its toll with season after season of ‘scraping by’.

Attracting new owners with Premiership dreams can only be found by sitting healthily in the Championship and this is where I see our best chance of getting a mogul in. No good if you are a bottom four club struggling for the odd win. We all know this and recognise that fact.

This season is somewhat strange, as expectations since Monks departure didn’t instil much hope for a proper top six push. Now after two successive wins and a possible third on Saturday changes thoughts. Three wins on the trot, coupled with our youngest ever player, entering a top six spot does to a mini extent get us into a Wow factor.

Headlines change, prospective buyers take note and supporters talk up the club more. Blues simply need a lucky break and deserve it amidst years of adversity. Pep Clotet can get that next win and getting us sitting prettily.

Someday, someone will take us seriously and not only see the potential, but feel it.
