Now whilst it isn’t the biggest news at the club, the way that Blues fans have taken to it shows that it’s could potentially mean something bigger further down the line.
Squad numbers take up as much importance as you want them to. They’re either just a piece of plastic on the back of the shirt, or they’re something sacred that must be held onto, preserved and not messed around with, a bit like these guys.
New signing Jefferson Montero has been given the squad number 15 for this upcoming season, joining other prestigious men to wear the shirt like Franck Quedrue, Radhi Jaidi and Scott Dann. Ok, so maybe they’re not that prestigious.
Blues fans though tried to take this news in a variety of different ways. There were those who thought leaving the number nine spot free meant there could be another signing coming in, just like last time.
Still hoping for that number 9 boys

Whilst I think these people thought he’d only just joined today and seemed to be giving him a welcome message. Or maybe they sent it after deadline day and they were just waiting for the paperwork to go through before it could be posted.
Welcome @jeffmontero play with no fear and look forward to see what you can do. KRO pic.twitter.com/LmkyjCD25s

Then there are these two who seemed to be taking issue with the picture rather than the news itself.
He looks absolutely delighted

Welcome Jeff. Mom says it’s rude to point.

And this chap who thinks a change might be on the cards for Montero’s social media page.
Should be @JeffMONTERO15 then surely
