There’s not a lot going on this week.
Because of City’s Carabao Cup match with Portsmouth being played last week, we sort of missed out on all the fun of having our game played at the same time as everyone else last night. As a result, there hasn’t been much to talk about.
So in these times, it’s always good to look into the past, to reminisce somewhat. Thankfully, Birmingham’s social media team had something up their sleeve.
Today marks the 33rd birthday of former City striker Cameron Jerome. Jerome signed for the Blues back in 2006 in a £3.5m deal from Cardiff City and racked up 200 appearances for the club in all competitions. Although he signed a five-year contract extension with the club in 2009, he would only see out two of them as he would move to Stoke City in 2011.
During his time at St Andrew’s, Jerome racked up 40 goals but there is one that stands out amongst the rest, this sensational strike against Liverpool back in 2009.
And the club decided to commemorate his birthday by reminding fans of that special goal at Anfield.
Such an iconic goal ????????

He has never hit a ball or controlled one like that since.

I’d just gone down to enjoy the half time hospitality at Anfield I looked up to the tv screen and thought “ I don’t remember that goal “, realising it had been scored on my way down the stairs ????. Fabulous strike
