Report: European giants set to enter Jude Bellingham sweepstakes at very late stage

|

Remember when I said a few days ago that ‘that should be that’.

Well, looks like that might not totally be that after all, as apparently there looks set to be yet another twist in the tale regarding Jude Bellingham’s future. Perhaps I should stop being so definitive, but where’s the fun in that?

According to a report from German media outlet Kicker, Bayern Munich are still sniffing around the 16-year-old in hopes that they can convince him to join them rather than going to Borussia Dortmund instead.

The report state that although a contract has been agreed with Bellingham, there is still the matter of a fee being paid to the Blues which has not been agreed, meaning that the deal to Dortmund isn’t 100% done, and that has allowed Bayern to sneak in at the last minute.

I’ve spoken before about how the club need to start looking at Bellingham’s situation as a bidding war, and it seems as if we could very well have the situation play out after all.

Should the club turn the Bellingham transfer saga into a bidding war, even at this late stage?

Yes

No

As has been discussed on this site before, providing nothing has been agreed in terms of a fee before he turns 17 (which is only a few days away), then we can open up the market to any and all bidders who want to bring him in.

And that will almost certainly play to our advantage as even that extra couple of million pounds here and there could prove vital to us in the long run.

What about you? What do you make of the latest news surrounding Bellingham?
