The transfer rumours come thick and fast as the transfer window nears the midpoint of its second full week, with Blues being linked with a host of players.

First on the bill is a renewed link with Charlton striker Jason Euell. Steve Bruce is reported to have watched Euell score in Charlton Reserves’ 3-0 win over Chelsea Reserves on Monday, with rumours of a £1.5 million bid being lined up amid reports that the player wants to leave The Valley. Euell does not appear to be the sort of player that Blues need, but given Bruce’s record on signing strikers…

Blues are also reported to have been watching 28-year-old defender Max von Schlebrugge. The Swede, who currently plies his trade at Hammarby, is reportedly attracting a lot of interest, with his agent Patrick Englund saying:

‘I can confirm that Birmingham are one of several clubs who have shown interest in Max. The club have studied him since the beginning of autumn and have done some serious research.’

The ever-reliable Fans FC are also reporting that Blues are interested in Southampton midfielder Nigel Quashie. The midfielder’s future appears to be in doubt under new Saints manager George Burley, and the club look ready to offload him.
