Cracovia Krakow are keen to keep hold of Nicolai Brock-Madsen, according to wyborcza.pl.

The Polish website reports that the Ekstraklasa league club would like the 25-year-old to remain beyond the end of his loan spell.

We loaned the former Danish Under 21 international to the Polish side until the end of the season in January, and it is believed the striker doesn’t have a future at St Andrews.

His contract with us expires next year, so it’s likely that we’ll be looking to sell the player as we would otherwise lose him for nothing in 2019.

Transfermarkt reports Cracovia do have the option to buy the forward on a permanent basis this summer so hopefully, they take up the deal.

The Dane was signed for £500,000 from Randers, but he has as not played for us in two and a half years, with his last game for the club coming in the 2-0 defeat to Huddersfield in December 2015.

  • Whilst we fans are quick to malign this player it should be noted that he never pursued a move to us. Gary Rowett saw something that ended up with Brock-Madsen signing a four year deal. At the time we hadn’t spent a bean on new players and this £400K signing suddenly aroused much anticipation. He now has a club who wants him and I am pleased.

  • Flop is obviously damning and possibly uncalled for.No doubt Garry Monk has watched videos etc of Brock-Madsen and has made his decision. We as fans always follow ex players when they move on and I hope he can emulate past players such as Adam Rooney and Sone Aluko who didn’t do too badly after leaving.
