Play Me Wide Right

Sebastian Larsson wants Bruce to select him for the right of midfield as he feels uncomfortable playing at right back.

Bruce plopped the on loan player in at right back during the Carling Cup match against Shrewsbury last month and despite Larsson getting the winner in the game he would rather play in midfield than at the back.

Speaking to the official website he said:

‘I want to play in midfield because I prefer playing right-mid, that’s where I want to play.

‘I don’t see myself as a defender at all – I know people say I’ve done well at right back but I’m not really comfortable there.

‘Or anywhere in midfield would suit me, I don’t feel too happy at the back.’

Following on from the debate on the Julian Gray article and people’s beliefs that we lack a natural width with McSheffrey and Johnson especially out of position, maybe there is room for the 442 if Larsson takes up the right berth and Gray the left. Give Gray the opportunity to make the spot his own and command the position leaving Johnson to move back to his prefered or more effective position.
