Listen To Gold

Steve Bruce is hoping the team have listened to David Gold and will put in a performance against Hull that sees plenty of goals.

David Gold said the other day that he wanted Blues to beat somebody convincingly, by a margin of four or five goals, and I doubt many fans would argue with that sentiment.

Going into the game against Hull Steve Bruce has expressed his confidence that we certainly have the players who can deliver plenty of goals and help us to win games comfortably.

‘We have got people with proven records who have done it at this level, that’s why we brought them here.

‘You look at McSheffrey, Jerome, Danns is capable of scoring a goal, as is Dunn.

‘Then, with the striking talent we originally had at the club – plus Bendtner – I’m convinced we will score the goals that will get us there.

‘When we got up five years ago, we played Tommy Mooney on the left because he could get a goal, rather than Stan Lazaridis.

‘But you have also got to get the balance right. That is the biggest headache I have at the moment, because you’ve also got to get the ball back in a game as well as pick players to unlock defences.

‘At Cardiff City we had these attacking players and you want to give them their head, but we weren’t as resolute as we should have been.

‘It doesn’t matter if you’re England – and we saw what happened in the World Cup – or Birmingham, it’s an important ingredient to any team.

‘Nobody has done what we have in terms of personnel, bringing players in and letting players go. Nobody.

‘There has been a huge upheaval, and I’ve got to get the right balance to the team.

‘That’s my job, that’s what I’m paid for and a solution will be found. I am convinced we will get better and better once that blend’s there and we settle down.’
