Birmingham City announced today (14th) that striker Lee Novak would be joining League One side Chesterfield on a season long loan.

The versatile playmaker will be missed in the match day squad by many fans because he is one of those players who just never seems to give up.

Personally, I think that this move for Novak is a good one for him but it is also a poor decision by the club.

Manager Gary Rowett will find it very hard to replace the work ethic that Novak has. The former Huddersfield Town man very rarely stops running for the ball and he will always give the team 110%, which is very difficult to find in a player nowadays.

I believe that Chesterfield are getting an exceptional player on loan in the form of Novak. Despite only scoring 12 goals in 69 appearances for the club, Novak never gave up when he was on the pitch.

The forward is potentially a one in a million player. I can hear many fans laughing at this statement but you name me a player in this day and age that doesn’t kick up a fuss about being played out of position!

Novak has played in goal, on either wing, as a central midfielder, in the no.10 role and up front. In each of these positions, Novak has never complained and he has just got on with the job. I think he will be very hard to replace.

Blues fans, what do you make of my opinion? Do you agree with me that it is a poor decision by the club to let Lee Novak go? Or do you think it is the right time to let him leave? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
