Much to the disappointment of many, Blues have today confirmed the departure of versatile attacker Lee Novak. The Geordie Striker has linked up with League One side Chesterfield on a loan deal until the end of the season, although a recall from his loan is available in the January transfer window.

Novak, who’s two year contract runs out at the end of the current campaign looks set to have played his last game for the club in Tuesdays 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers. He has struggled for game time since the arrival of Gary Rowett last season and has only managed two goals in that period.

After joining the club on a free transfer in 2013, Novak has made a total of 69 appearances and has scored 12 goals. A fan favourite for his very high work rate and commitment to playing football for this great club, Novak will be missed by many around St Andrews.

Personally, I hope Novak is recalled in January and gets a chance to redevelop his Blues career. And hopefully he can make a mark at his new club, just like he has at Blues.

Are you sad to see Novak leave the club?
