Another point on the board for Blues and Gary Rowett! It is one that was probably the most hard fought, bar the Derby game, but it was a good one for us to pick up.

Throughout the game, we looked sharp in places but also we looked a little tired in others.

Heading into the big game on Tuesday, I feel Andy Shinnie staked a big claim for a starting stop, but he is unlikely to get the nod ahead of loanee Jon Toral.

A well taken goal by David Cotterill, which was set up by Shinnie, will give the Welsh winger a huge confidence boost heading into the derby on Tuesday.

However, I feel the likes of Jonathan Spector and Demarai Gray both had fairly poor games.

Below are the ratings for how I feel the players played as well as a little line on what they did right and wrong during the game.

Kuszczak 6- Comfortable again but his kicking still worries me.

Eardley 6- Looked solid until his injury which meant he had to be subbed off just before half time.

Spector 4- Gave away a cheap penalty and had a torrid night in defence. Hopefully he plays better on Tuesday.

Morrison 6- Once again looked a mean figure in defence and dealt with everything that was throw his way.

Grounds 7- Strong, physical in the air and probably should have scored in the first half. Continuing to improve and reach last seasons form.

Kieftenbeld 6- Another good performance by the summer signing but he tired towards the end.

Gleeson 5- Gave the ball away far to often and failed to find that killer pass.

Cotterill 7- Scored a great goal from a difficult angle but other than that he didn’t really do much. Could quite easily been sent off for a poor challenge in the first half.

Shinnie 8- My Man of the Match. Set up the goal and found space really well when he could. Gave a good account of himself ahead of the derby game on Tuesday.

Gray 5- Another below average performance from the wide man. He needs to find his consistency again and then the end product will come.

Donaldson 6- Yet another strong and relentless performance from the forward. Didn’t really have many chances but given more support, he will get more goals.

Subs: Caddis 6, Maghoma 6, Robinson 5.
