Lee Clark remained adamant that Blues could escape the drop by getting a result at Bolton while their rivals slip up elsewhere.

It could have been so much better had Blues won their game in hand over Wigan at St Andrews last night, but a goal inside of three minutes put an end to those hopes.

Now City have to better Doncaster’s result on Saturday to stay up and Donny are at Champions Leicester City. Eyes will also be kept on the Blackpool and Millwall games.

Clark told the Birmingham Mail: “First and foremost we have to get the result ourselves and then hope that others go our way.

“It is not in our own hands now, which is obviously not what we wanted.

“But there is still that belief in the dressing room. Our away form is very good.

“But I`ve said many times, don`t talk the talk, walk the walk and deliver, that`s what I`d be looking for.”

Last time Blues won a game was April 5th at Doncaster Rovers, since then they have been on a run of straight defeats that no stretches to five games.
