Much Ado About Nothing Or A Real Kick In The Teeth For Birmingham

|

Writer: Mitchell Bray

From Monday onwards, Blues fans everywhere will be nervously awaiting the dreaded decision by the EFL.

We have had this hanging over us since last summer making this season a difficult one to take. Salvation so far has been the form of Garry Monk’s men to get points on the board. Tough ask this and full credit to the whole coaching set up.

Speculation regarding what punishment we are likely to get has been rife with some national newspapers quoting ‘vulture like’ points deductions. Many views quite rightly state that we simply don’t know and no point even thinking about the outcome. Easy to say but hard to do.

Every point gained and each rung up the league ladder we climb could easily be removed – that is the real thought of the true blue. No point denying it. Garry Monk will no doubt be wanting the remaining games to quickly come up with an ‘insurance of twelve more points’ which should take into account of the severest of EFL punishment.

One thing is certain about this club that we support is that we do literally stand alone. Not saying this lightly by any means, as those of you who know of my activities on local radio at times and lobbying of local press for real support, I can say unhesitatingly that very few care. We are not fashionable unlike other local clubs and therefore we expect little and that’s exactly what we get.

Hopefully, next week brings some pleasant relief.
