As the two week mark of the January transfer window strikes us, Birmingham City have once again been linked with another central midfielder.

Last week it was believed that Granada midfielder Rene Krhin was set to sign for the club, only for him to head back to Spain and continue training with the La Liga outfit.

Well yesterday reports surfaced that the club were interested in Swedish midfielder Robin Quaison, a 23-year-old who plays for Italian side Palermo.

The reports are believed to be accurate with Gianfranco Zola keen to bring in the young midfielder who can play in the middle of the park as well as out wide on the left.

A source close to Vital Birmingham has confirmed the interest but has also revealed that a deal for the midfielder who has featured in the last three seasons of the Italian league, would be a complicated one to complete.

Alongside Blues it is believed that there are a number of other teams chasing his signature, most notably other Italian sides, so if Blues want to sign him, they better act quickly otherwise they risk losing out on yet another target.
