Just What We Need – 90% Of Birmingham Fans Polled Would Back £1.5m Bid For Premier League Midfielder

There is still very little information on when, or even if, the reported embargo will be lifted before the end of the transfer window. Yet, it hasn’t stopped the club looking at potential targets if reports are to be believed.

Former Vital Blues editor Tom Heslop took to Twitter on Sunday to report that we could be looking to sign Brighton’s Oliver Norwood for £1.5m.

When I gauged supporter’s opinions on whether such a move would be a good idea, a vast majority said that he would be a perfect fit for us:

Whether it’s wishful thinking that we’ll be able to sign more players this summer, I’m not sure. I would certainly back a move for Norwood. In a 4-4-2 formation, the Northern Irish international would be just what we need.

He can play in central midfield, but he also presents an attacking threat, unlike the options we currently have in that position. Whilst on loan at Fulham last season, he scored five goals and provided three assists. Considering none of our central midfielders managed that last season, that’s enough to convince me that he would be an improvement.
