Birmingham Sanction Loan Switch For Former Irish Under 18 International

|

The club have confirmed that left-back Dominic Bernard has joined National League side Aldershot Town on a six-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old will return to St Andrew’s in January, and hopefully, the youngster will get a number of games of senior football under his belt.

Bernard has struggled with injury over the past couple of years. He only returned to fitness in November following a lengthy absence, but he signed a new contract earlier this year after impressing for the Under 23s.

The defender will want to catch up for lost time during his loan spell at Aldershot. The former Irish Under 18 international will be joining a side who fared very well in the league last season.

Garry Waddock’s men finished in fifth place in the table before losing in the playoffs on penalties to Ebbsfleet United. No doubt, it would be great for Bernard’s development if he could establish himself as a first-team regular with his new team building on last season’s successful campaign.
