It would appear that Birmingham have appointed their first choice after news has broken Chris Hughton was turned down for the job.

The former Birmingham manager was in the running to take the job at St Andrews and indeed many fans wanted him back in the hot seat in order to bring the club away from the relegation zone.

Birmingham’s manager committee have decided he is not the right man for the job after questions about his commitment to the club. Hughton left for Norwich after guiding Birmingham to a play-off finish and a great Europa League run three years ago.

The management committee was set up by Mr Pavlakis and consisted of two football experts and two senor members of staff at the club.

His hunt for a new job will have to continue as Birmingham have opted for a more trustworthy servant, their former defender Gary Rowett and a back room staff of former players.
