Blackpool boss Ian Holloway says that both sides were a credit to the division as Blues drew 2-2 with Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

In an exciting game, Blackpool came from behind and eventually went in front when Stephen Crainey and Neal Eardley both found the net after Marlon King`s opener on 29 minutes.

But substitute Nikola Zigic claimed an 87th-minute leveller a few moments after he had headed a golden chance past the post.

Holloway said: ‘I think it’s a fantastic advert for this division. I nearly got blown away driving to the game and two teams to produce as good a game as that in those conditions was fantastic.

‘Don’t get me wrong, they are a fantastic side and they paid homage to us by putting five in midfield which took us by surprise. To go one behind I was devastated to be fair but what I’m pleased with is the character that my lads showed.

‘We’re not that fragile and we looked like we believed we’d come back and I’m upset that the best move from one of my teams for a few years Matt Phillips couldn’t quite score from. Our equaliser was something else – it’s what we talk about doing, the support and then the pass and the finish from Crainey was sublime.’
