According to reports this afternoon (February 8th), former Birmingham City loanee Lloyd Dyer looks set for a return to the Sky Bet Championship with play-off hopefuls Ipswich Town.

Talksport.com are suggesting that following his release from Premier League side Watford, Dyer is set to sign a short term deal with the Tractor Boys.

Mick McCarthy’s men currently sit in seventh and are just two points of the play-offs with Sheffield Wednesday occupying the final spot with 50 points to their name.

The contract of Dyer was terminated by mutual consent last month and he now looks set to give Town a boost as they are once again in the hunt for a return to the top flight.

During his time with the Blues, Dyer, 33, made 19 appearances, scoring one goal.

Blues fans didn’t take to his performances very well with the majority of them being below par. When he scored his only goal for the club, Dyer ran along the touchline with both his hands raised to his ears as if to say, where are all my critics now.

Blues fans, are you pleased that Lloyd Dyer is coming back into the Championship? What did you make of his time with Birmingham City? Let us know in the comment section down below!
