‘Blues scholar Corey O’Keeffe last week gained three Republic of Ireland U17s caps,’ states the Birmingham City official website.

The Blues youngster helped the Irish to two victories and a draw, successfully playing every minute of every game.

‘It was enough for the Irish to seal second place in their group and progress to the Elite Phase of qualification for the UEFA Championships.’ The official site makes it clear that this is a big achievement for the side.

O’Keeffe rounded off a brilliant week with a goal in the 4-2 victory against the Faroe Islands. The young right back netting to give the Irish the lead early in the first half.

A bright, young player who has a wicked cross, surely one to look for in the future.
