Birmingham travel to Norwich this weekend with the league front runners in impressive form. Whilst Blues have been complacent and careless at times in each game this season.
Lee Clark may be suggesting in his latest interview that the underdog status may help Birmingham in their next game. Blues take on Norwich and are widely expected to lose.
The Norwich players may be expecting it to be a foregone conclusion when they turn up to work on Saturday, said Clark. He says that the squad believe they can get a result despite Norwich being clear favourites.
The Blues boss has described Norwich as the early favourites and ‘player for player the best squad in the league’. So there is certainly a lot of respect there. Birmingham may revert to a more defensive formation for the game as a result.
Clark isn’t quite decided on his tactics yet though, speaking on BirminghamMail.co.uk
“You`ve got to be realistic and understand the opponent you`re coming up against.
“But, also, we`ve done lots of good things on the other side of it as well, so I`ve got a decision to make about which way we go.
“Do we stick with how we`ve been doing or do we do something a little bit different?”‘
Birmingham may spring a tactical surprise on Norwich in order to produce a result, it would seem. Just which one isn’t quite decided yet.
What we do know is there will need to be some big individual performances if Blues are to come away from this game with pride.
