Birmingham City are expecting to complete a signing in the next few days. A source close to the club said manager Gary Rowett is ‘very close` to capturing his fifth summer signing after ‘weeks of discussions`.
The identity of the player remains unclear but it is understood to be a target Rowett has been tracking for some time.
So far, Alex Jones, Jacques Maghoma, Adam Legzdins and Tomasz Kuszczak have checked in at St. Andrew`s as Rowett looks to re-mould his squad for the forthcoming Championship season.
Blues have been linked to several players in the national media recently and fans have long been debating which areas of the squad need strengthening. Rowett has a clear mind set of what his plans are and has gone about implementing them.
It is also understood that the club are still ‘plugging away` at a deal to bring Robert Tesche to the club. The German midfielder was on loan at Blues from Nottingham Forest last season.
