In May, Birmingham City were rumoured to be close to announcing the signing of former Hull City forward Sone Aluko, a move which has fallen flat on its face at the moment, and the Nigerian man has now spoken out about his future.

The former Blues trainee highlighted that he hasn’t made his mind up yet about where he will be playing his football next year and that there were plenty of factors to consider ahead of any potential transfer this summer.

Speaking to completesportsnigeria.com, the 27-year-old said: ‘I have spoken to clubs in the Premier League, the Championship, and even abroad.

‘But it has to be a club where I will be playing regularly, not where I will always be on the substitutes bench.’

Unfortunately for any Blues fans wanting to see Aluko return to the club where he started his career, a move doesn’t look as though it will materialise because of the fact that the manager, Gary Rowett, may not be able to give him that guarantee of first team football every week.

Although he could be an option for the West Midlands based side who kick off their season on the 6th of August at St.Andrews against Cardiff City, with interest in the striker being quite high by the sounds of things, they may be priced out of a move for him.

Continuing on in his interview, the ex-Tigers man, who made a total of 31 appearances in all competitions last season said: ‘I have not decided which club I will be playing for next season.

‘It might not be the obvious choice of everybody, but it will be the one that will be best for me.

‘I didn’t play as much as I wanted to play, which is common in football. I have been with hill for four seasons now and was the longest serving player there so from January I thought I needed a new challenge.’
