Birmingham City came from behind to earn a point at Deepdale and extend their unbeaten away run to three matches.

Sam Gallagher levelled for Blues after Jacques Maghoma pounced on a defensive error.

In hindsight, Blues could have helped themselves to all three points but are once again ruing missed chances.

Blues missed numerous openings with the score goalless before the hosts took the lead after 17 minutes. Ben Davies bundled the ball over the line after Marc Roberts inexplicably headed a corner across his own goal.

From that point, Preston were fairly comfortable until the interval.

Blues started the second half well but struggled to impose themselves in the final third. A couple of half chances were squandered before Gallagher’s sixth goal of the season just after the hour mark.

Chieck Ndoye came close to putting Blues ahead late on but his header was cleared off the line.
