Birmingham City’s draw at Preston this afternoon ensured they stay off the bottom of the Championship table on goal difference.

Blues travel to Premier League new boys Huddersfield for an FA Cup fourth round tie next weekend before a nail biting six pointer against Sunderland at St. Andrews on the Tuesday evening.

The Black Cats are one place and one point above Blues in the table after a 1-0 win at home to Hull City today.

  • Winning games for confidence is an important thing and SC will no doubt play a strong team he feels that can get a result on Saturday. This is the perfect opportunity to play his fringe players and give game time to the likes of Jota, Adams, Morrison and Kuszczak. Also the likes of Lowe, Bramall and Jenkinson and some of the u23s like Harding, O Keefe. This is a great opportunity to progress to the 5th round of the cup as Huddersfield are a team low on confidence but we need to be careful as to not risk injury or suspension to key players like Kieftenbeld and Gallagher. The Sunderland game is definitely more important. I can still see Cotterill playing his best team as he did with the Burton cup tie. My team would be Kuszczak, Jenkinson, Morrison, Dean, Bramall, Cogley, O Keefe, Lowe, Jota, Juke, Adams
