Birmingham Weighing Up Move For England Under 20 International

|

The club are weighing up a move for Bournemouth winger Connor Mahoney, according to the Birmingham Mail reporter Joseph Chapman.

Garry Monk is said to be after a winger, a goalkeeper and a midfielder, with the 21-year-old being someone they are looking to recruit on a loan deal.

Mahoney was snapped up by the Cherries after the youngster left Blackburn Rovers last summer. They paid a £425,000 tribunal fee for the England Under 20 international.

The winger had only made a handful of senior appearances before moving to the Vitality stadium, and he didn’t feature for Eddie Howe’s side in the first half of last season. His first two games for the club came in January in the FA Cup.

To get more game time, he moved to Barnsley for the second half of the campaign, but he only made eight appearances as the Tykes were relegated from the Championship. He mostly plays on the right-hand side, but he can also play from the left.
