Birmingham Scouts Watch On As Norwegian Wonderkid Features In Europa League

|

We were one of fifteen clubs watching Molde’s 2-1 defeat to Northern Irish side Glenavon in a Europa League qualifier yesterday, according to Aftenposten (via All Nigeria Soccer).

The Norwegian publication reports that we had a scout in attendance to see a number of Molde’s players in action, including Erling Braut Haaland.

The 17-year-old has been interesting a number of clubs, including Manchester United, and he has been a prominent performer for his club in recent months with eight goals in 14 Norwegian Premier Division matches.

We could have been looking at other potential recruits in the Molde team, but considering our need to strengthen up front, a possible swoop for a young striker should not be ruled out.

Haaland is the son of former Leeds and Manchester City midfielder Alf Inge Haaland and has already garnered a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young talents.

Of course, with our reported transfer embargo, any move for the player would have to be delayed until we resolve our issues with the EFL, but it’s certainly an intriguing link nonetheless.

Would you want the club to go after the Norwegian Under 19 international? Let me know in the poll:
