Wigan Athletic striker Will Grigg is a target for Birmingham City.

Blues boss Harry Redknapp is looking to bolster his squad and is prioritising the signing of a striker during his summer rebuild.

Northern Ireland international Grigg has been out with a knee injury since March but is recovering well and is expected to return for the start of pre-season.

Although Latics boss Graham Barrow has been assured that he isn’t required to sell players, Vital Birmingham understand that Blues are considering placing an offer in the region of £3m for the Solihull-born striker.

The 25-year-old managed seven goals in a season hampered by injuries last term. But the previous season saw him net 28 in 43 appearances and he has a career average of one goal per 2.6 games.

Redknapp has draw up a list of several possible targets and he will look to start the process of strengthing his squad in the near future.

Robbie Keane has also spoken to Redknapp but it’s not known whether a deal will be struck.
