With the Premier League season having come to a close yesterday, all of the talk will be on transfers and players making potential moves to other clubs.

Some players will also be out of contract at their various clubs so it gives the opportunity for managers to jump at the chance of bringing in players on a free transfer.

Blues manager Harry Redknapp has already hinted that he’ll be looking for a few free agents to boost the squad and a man that springs to mind is Fraizer Campbell.

He is out of contract at Crystal Palace and it’s unlikely that he’ll be offered a new one after making just 12 Premier League appearances all season- each one of those coming from the bench.

Although he may have been hampered by injuries during his career, I still believe that he’d be an excellent acquisition to the Blues team and would score goals in the Championship.

He’s proved throughout his career that he`s a striker that can score goals and a goal scorer is just what Blues need.

At the age of just 29, Campbell still has plenty to offer and he would also give us a different option to what we currently have now.

He would add pace, directness and, with his eye for goal, I don’t see why Redknapp wouldn’t be keeping a close look at a man of this quality.

If he can grab goals in the Premier League, then who knows what he’d be like in the Championship! A whole host of Championship clubs will no doubt have Campbell on their radar so it’s up to Blues to act quickly.

I’m sure that he’d jump at the chance to play more regularly and Campbell may admit himself that dropping down a division may be his best option.
