Two nostalgia pieces in one day, what more could you ask for?
Well, you could ask for more or less, depending on what your particular view is on them.
Continuing the club’s recent trend with various ‘icons’ of the past, they have sent out a tweet to commemorate the birthday of one of the club’s former players, and in my mind, this is a pretty special one. Predominantly because he was the last Blues captain to lift a major trophy for the club. Today marks the 43rd birthday of one Stephen Carr.
Carr joined City back in 2009 on an initial one-month deal, however he went on to have quite the distinguished career at the club, racking up 121 appearances. He will always be remembered though as being Birmingham’s captain when they defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the 2011 League Cup final.
And as has also become the tradition, City fans were more than happy to jump on the bandwagon in wishing Stephen Carr the very best on his 43rd birthday.

Although there were a couple of fans who were rather annoyed that he wasn’t addressed by his ‘proper’ title, or that he hasn’t quite been given the full recognition he deserves from the club.
