Yeung To Take The Stand

Yeung’s trial is to resume today with him taking to the stand to give evidence.

The amount is believed to be over £50 million, which he denies.

The change of heart, about giving evidence at his trial, came after Carson Yeung decided to change legal representation. I have made the point before that he clearly must have felt he was beaten at the original trial, its quite strange that he just gets a do-over because he thinks it hasn’t gone his way.

At this point originally the final statements would be being made and the case would be near its end, instead the case is going back to trial. The trial essentially is the same and it will more than likely just submission of new evidence, which in this case is Yeung’s statement; so it shouldn’t take as long as before.

Yeung has never before answered questions about where his money came from. Probably on the advice of his previous council, well we have all seen The Bill haven’t we, if you don’t talk you’re often seen as having something to hide (guilt).

The offences are alleged to of occurred between 2001 and 2007, before he owned BCFC.

The Birmingham Mail say that they have been told by legal experts that the verdict should now be sometime in the new year.

Nothing new on the takeover as well, Yeung leaves no clear indication of what he wants to do with the club, sell or part-sell? I doubt much will happen until after his verdict.
