Would 16-Goal Championship Star Be A Good Fit For Birmingham? – Have Your Say

|

Martyn Waghorn has been linked with a move to us and Middlesbrough over the past few days.

Independent Ipswich Town website TWTD reported on Friday that both clubs are interested in the 28-year-old. The report was partially backed up by the East Anglian Times today who say there is substance to Boro’s interest, although there was no word whether we are also in the running.

The local newspaper’s reporter Stuart Watson says that the Tractor Boys’ owner Marcus Evans is prepared to turn down “big money bids” for the striker, but we’ll have to see whether that would put us off from making an offer for the former Rangers striker.

Waghorn scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists last season in the Championship; an impressive return. He is known for his high work rate and fitness, and especially in a 4-4-2 system, a striker who works hard, scores goals and creates them, would be a perfect fit.

Of course, at this stage, there is very little concrete evidence that we are going after the player, but he would certainly be the type of striker that the club could do with. What do you think? Should we go after him? Let me know in the poll.
