Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that the club have given up hope of signing Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail at his pre-Burton Albion press conference this afternoon, the 70-year-old admitted that a deal to bring the attacking midfielder to the club looked increasingly unlikely now and that it looks like the move is off.

Earlier in the window it was believed that Blues had offered the Italian side a small amount of money to help pay off some of Morrison’s wages in order to bring him in on loan, a deal that was politely rejected by Lazio.

With the Serie A side looking to get Morrison off the books, only a permanent deal would have suited them, whereas Blues were looking to get him on a season long loan deal.

Blues have yet again failed in their attempts to bring in another new player.
