Jacques Maghoma officially signed on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday on July 1st, 2015, nearly three years ago to the day.
The club’s player of the season for the 2017/18 campaign has certainly made his mark, although it could be argued he has been a slow burner.
Fans on Twitter have been debating whether Jacques has been the best piece of business the club has done in recent years:
Three years ago today @Jmags19 signed for Blues.
Has been sensational and was the standout player last season – the best bit of business the club has done in the last five years. #BCFC pic.twitter.com/MW06vzPx8C

Never best bit of business, he’s only had this year where he’s played well

Since 2013 who has been better business? Mags was free remember. You could argue Michael Morrison or Kieftenbeld, both who cost something.

In my opinion Chè Adams for 1 million, Maikel Kieftenbield for 200k and Mikael morrison were all better business. And Mags, very good this season but was not the best the other few.

Been a top addition. Thankfully we seem in no danger of losing him but what do you reckon he’s worth in today’s market? Honestly can’t call it!

Jacques Maghoma signed on a free for #bcfc three years ago today. One of the very few pieces of transfer business that VR actually got right at Blues.

Verdict:
Our no.19 is certainly a candidate, although it must be said that his performances last campaign improved markedly compared to his first two seasons.
Players such as Maikel Kieftenbeld, Michael Morrison and Maxime Colin are probably other names that are worth a mention, but Jacques came in on a free so that certainly goes in his favour.
Hopefully, he can replicate his form next season, and help supply the assists and goals to get us back at the right end of the table.
