Thorpe Returns to United

On loan defender Tom Thorpe has returned to Manchester United to be treated for his ligament damage, sustained in Saturday`s 3-3 draw against Derby.

The young lad was stretchered off just 14 minutes into his debut. Thorpe has a good reputation at United as we mentioned here.

Thorpe will remain at Manchester United for the ‘foreseeable future` as Birmingham will have to wait to find out if they will be allowed him back.

Aaron Martin came on in Thorpe`s place on Saturday and had a decent game, the fact he did not start ahead of Thorpe tells you Clark would of preferred Thorpe though.

Martin is 24 and has yet to have a full professional season at centre back for any team, he has had loan spells with Coventry (12 apps) and Crystal Palace (4 apps).
