Mitch Hancox will not be heading for the St. Andrew`s exit alone as Birmingham City have confirmed that Lee Novak, Wes Thomas, Mark Duffy, David Edgar and Neal Eardley will not be offered new deals.

Gary Rowett has recently commented that he has to ‘think with his head not heart` when deciding the futures of various players as his clear out gains momentum.

Novak has been on loan at Chesterfield and has scored 15 goals in 38 appearances this season. The 27 year-old, who represented Blues on 59 occasions, is interesting several League One clubs but Chesterfield are in pole position for his signature.

Thomas has been on loan at Swindon Town and Bradford City but has been hampered by niggling injuries. The 29 year-old possesses blistering pace but lacks potency in front of goal.

Duffy has been a massive success during his loan spell at Burton Albion, who join Blues in the Championship next season. In his 47 appearances at Burton, Duffy has become a huge hit with the fans and is likely to return to The Pirelli Stadium on a permanent basis. The 30 year-old has only played for Blues on seven occasions, mostly as a substitute.

Canadian international Edgar has been plying his trade at Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United on loan. He has represented Blues 19 times but is rumoured to have fallen out with Gary Rowett – hence his exclusion despite Blues needing a central defender.

Eardley has been victim of several long term injuries which put an end to his incline into the first team earlier on this season. The Welshman signed for Blues back in 2013 but has played just 21 games.
