After the latest defeat against Blackburn, Chris Burke has said that the club can avoid relegation and seemed happy to take any blame for the current situation away from the manager.

Burke says that concentration levels must be kept up if they are to avoid the drop, something which they have not been able to do of late.

Recently, poor goals being let in and even poorer starts to games have cost Birmingham dearly, it may even cost them their place in the Championship if things don’t alter, But Burke insists that its concentration levels that is the problem, not how they are prepared for the game.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail he said: “It`s concentration levels,” said the Scotland winger.

“You have to win the game in 90 plus minutes. We are only ‘winning` games in 45 minutes.

“That`s the only positive I can look at from Monday against Blackburn. We came out in the second-half and scored twice.’

Having identified the problem with the side at the moment, Burke was keen to point out that this is not the fault of the manager as thy are being prepared in the right way for the games and playing the right formations.

He added: “It`s definitely not the way the lads are being coached or anything like that.

“It`s just everybody being able to switch on and do their jobs.’
