Even though the regular Championship season has only been finished for just over two weeks now, there has already been talk of who Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp will be bringing into the club this summer.

With the expected links to his former players constantly being swept under the carpet by either Redknapp himself or the players themselves, such as Peter Crouch who was a rumoured target, it is now time to start looking at other players who would fit the bill at Blues.

All that being said, the club have already been linked with a move for Augsburg right back Daniel Opare, a move that I believe won’t materialise, but I have no doubt that we will see more names pop up over the next two weeks or so.

One man that I would like to see the club make a move for is Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas.

Although he signed a three-year deal with the Tigers last summer, the uncertainty surrounding the future of manager Marco Silva could play into the hands of anybody looking to buy players who are currently with Hull.

The Tigers were relegated to the Championship following an unsuccessful season in the Premier League and despite scoring three goals in the top flight, Clucas could well be looking for a move away from Hull.

Clucas already has plenty of pedigree having played in the Championship with Hull and I remember him causing us all sorts of problems when we beat them 1-0 back in the season of 2015/16.

The Birmingham City board have already assured Redknapp that he has money to spend this summer and I personally believe that Clucas would prove to be a shrewd piece of transfer business should the club make a move for him this summer.

Blues fans haven’t been made aware just how much money the club have to spend this summer but if it is in the region of £15 million, which I firmly believe it will be, spending around £4 million on somebody of Clucas’s ilk would really help out our pursuit of the play-offs or even automatic promotion.

Should Blues look to spend one large chunk on money on a single player this summer, I believe that Clucas would prove to be a target worth pursuing.

Blues fans, do you think that Sam Clucas would be a good option for the club to look at for next season? Let us know in the comment section down below!
