Harry Redknapp has confirmed Kevin Bond as his Assistant Manager at Birmingham City.

The 59-year-old worked with Redknapp previously at Tottenham, Portsmouth and QPR and has been the manager of Hong Kong Pegasus since November.

Bond replaced Steve Cotterill who declined the position on a permanent basis after playing a part in Blues’ survival last season.

Redknapp told Talksport – ‘Kevin Bond is coming with me. Kevin was with me at Portsmouth when we got promoted, Tottenham? he`s been everywhere with me’.

He continued – “He`s been out managing a team in Hong Kong doing a fantastic job out there – he`s won both the cups – and he`s come back and I`m delighted to have him with me – I think he’s brilliant’.

  • Managers reach their peak of knowledge at sixty ,,,we now have two managers at their peak …….Bring it on ,,,the journey starts here , let’s hope TTA have allotted enough money to give us that fast start out of the blocks , that we need ,,,as we don’t need time to look back just concentrate on the task ahead …Come on let’s get this show on the road …..KRO ….

  • Yes David, all systems go now. Never have I been so optimistic about next season under Harry. Whether he is lucky or whatever it simply doesn’t matter. I trust him and that is the key-whoever he signs.

  • Top six would be great with crowds flocking back and media following every Redknapp move. High profile is what this club needs-for all the RIGHT reasons.

  • Next season will be very different from the previous 4-5. We’ll get Premiership level exposure. Attendances will be back in the upper 20,000s. There’ll be a great buzz again and hopefully the players to finish in the top 2.

Sheff Wed and Leeds will be up there too. If Deeney goes to Leeds (long odds I know) they’ll have Wood and Deeney up top. I think we can push them with the right squad a passionate crowd and a top manager.
