Eight weeks until the transfer window opens and Gary Rowett is already starting to collate his wish list. The Blues manager has previously stressed the need for ‘quality not quantity` as he attempts to go about his business in a similar fashion than before completion of the takeover.

High up on his list of priorities is loanee striker Lukas Jutkiewicz. The Burnley striker has netted four goals in six starts and has been the subject of conversation between the two clubs. Blues want to make the deal a permanent one and the Clarets have named their price.

With Rhoys Wiggins likely to return to parent club Bournemouth after a suspected cruciate ligament injury, a left sided full back is also on the agenda.

It is understood that Rowett has one eye on the future when he plans for squad reinforcements but is looking to attract players who can offer competition to the first team rather than an ongoing project similar to Nicolai Brock-Madsen.

AC Horsens 17 year-old left back Mads Bech Sørensen has been watched by scouts from St. Andrews but his inexperience may be a detrimental factor. Sørensen made his first team bow in the Danish Superliga aged just 16 and has since clocked up a further elven appearances.

Blues were in the hunt for Leicester City`s Ben Chilwell until he went on loan to Huddersfield Town last season. At present he has a muscle strain but it is thought that Rowett is an admirer of the 19 year-old England U21 international and may be open to a loan deal.
