Birmingham will face a decent test when they face Rotherham this weekend. A team who have not looked out of place since winning promotion from League One.
Rotherham enjoyed promotion from the play-offs and have since only suffered one terrible defeat all season (3-0 to Reading). Which is more than can be said about Birmingham.
The opponents on Saturday may sit in 19th but they were holding themselves well floating around 14th just a few short weeks ago. Such is the testament to how tight the Championship will be, again, this season.
But with that said I do expect Birmingham to have a go at winning the game and do feel we have a good chance of doing so.
Confidence is a very powerful thing and Gary Rowett’s man management skills seem to be working wonders with players that we had long since given up on.
It’s inspiring to see let alone be a part of, for the players anyway. In truth it is almost as if Gary Rowett is in the process of resetting the bar at Birmingham for this group of players.
It is games like this Saturday that will shed some light on what we can come to expect from this group of players under this management.
