Uwe Rosler has previewed Wigan’s next game by speaking to WiganLatics.co.uk.

Wigan recorded their first win of the season against Blackpool last time out and will want to try and get their season going with another win today.

“Obviously we worked on finishing this week. We worked on how we want to address the game, every game tactically has one or two different things that we are focusing on offensively but in principle we did a lot of things right for the majority of the Blackpool game and I think we want to continue in that way.

Rosler feels his team are improving now. Which would be a bad time for Blues to come up North to play them.

“We`re quite optimistic and in good shape coming off the back of two good performances, obviously the last one was rewarded with three good points.

“Hopefully we can make another step to climb up the table.”

The Wigan boss showed his understands the situation that has gone out at Birmingham and also recognised there are players within the team that can play, despite the lack of finances.

“For financial reasons, they had to change their squad completely but they have some familiar faces like Clayton Donaldson who is a player I signed for Brentford and I`m a big admirer of him,”

“They have a very hard-working team, play a 4-4-2 with two very mobile strikers who will try and go in behind our defence all the time; they`re very quick and that will be a new challenge for our players at the back.

“Apart from that, they`re solid and compact; a typically very well organised Championship team.”

“It`s been a very hectic week in terms of transfer activity but with the team we`ve had a good week with time to refresh but also time to work on certain things which will be important for the Birmingham game.”

Rosler will be hoping no more of his team are sold to the Premier League as he tries to build a team worthy of a promotion push. At the very least they will be expecting to be within the playoff teams come the end of the season.
