Plenty Of Birmingham Fans Would Like To See Norwegian Ace At St Andrews

|

Erling Braut Haaland is being watched by a number of clubs, including some of Europe’s elite. We were one of the teams who sent a scout to watch him and his Molde team-mates face Glenavon in the Europa League on Wednesday evening.

There is no indication that the club were there expressly there to watch the Norwegian Under 19 international, but it wouldn’t be surprising considering we are looking to strengthen our forward options.

Haaland has scored eight goals so far this campaign in the Norwegian top flight and is no doubt an exciting prospect. A lot of supporters would like to see the 17-year-old display his talents at St Andrew’s:

Whether that is a realistic ambition, I’m not so sure. If he wants a lot of first-team football, he should choose a Championship club over a Premier League side. However, he could equally choose to continue his development in Norway.

We are clearly looking for a striker, following our failure to land Lewis Grabban, but I think we’ll go for a more tried and tested talent at this level. What do you think? What striker would you sign this summer? Let me know in the comments.
