Former Birmingham City defender Paul Caddis is training with Blackburn Rovers as he aims to earn himself a contract with the club.

The 28-year-old mutually agreed to terminate his contract at Blues last month and has since been searching for pastures new. In an attempt to gain fitness, Caddis has been working with the first team at Rovers’ Brockhall training complex.

After the sale of Ben Marshall to Wolves on deadline day, Caddis has been earmarked as a possible replacement.

The one-cap Scotland international played his way into Birmingham City folklore after scoring the goal that preserved Blues’ Championship status in a 2-2 draw at Bolton two-and-a-half years ago.

After 159 appearances for the club, Caddis will always be fondly remembered by Bluenoses who will wish him the best of luck if he manages to strike a deal at Ewood Park.
