Gianni Paladini says that he and his consortium has the cash to buy Birmingham City and wants the chance to prove it.

Paladini came forward with the offer to take over the club, but Peter Pannu has doubted that they indeed have the money to be able to make such a move.

Now the ex-Queens Park Rangers chairman has been angered by comments made to the South China Morning Post who Pannu gave an interview to.

He now wants an opportunity to prove his group are serious with their bid, £17million of which would be paid with immediate effect.

The Italian told reporters: ‘Mr Pannu has insulted me and our backers by saying we don’t have the money.

‘Now, prove me wrong, Mr Pannu, by providing us exclusivity for two weeks to finalise the deal at the original price that was offered – and agreed. If we are unable to do so, you can then show I am wrong.’
