On Saturday afternoon Birmingham City will travel to Yorkshire for their second game of the new Sky Bet Championship season as they take on Leeds United.

Last season, Blues successfully out-played their opponents and walked away with all three points thanks to goals from Demarai Gray and Jacques Maghoma and I am pretty sure that Gary Rowett would take a similar result this weekend.

Since last Saturday, the opening day of the season, Blues have added to their ranks with Sheffield United striker Che Adams arriving at St.Andrews for a fee in the region of £2 million and I fully expect him to be in the starting XI in all honesty.

I have a feeling that Blues will look to use a different formation against Garry Monk’s side with three midfielders being used for the first time this season as Rowett will look to break quickly with Leeds presumably having large quantities of possession.

Down below is the side that I think Rowett will send out on Saturday as well as the seven substitutes…

GK: Kuszczak
RB: Spector
CB: Morrison
CB: Shotton
LB: Grounds
CM: Tesche
CM: Davis
CM: Gleeson
RW: Cotterill
ST: Adams
LW: Donaldson

Substitutes: Legzdins, Caddis, Kieftenbeld, Solomon-Otabor, Fabbrini, Maghoma, Vaughan.

As you can see, I have made a few tweaks to the team that drew 0-0 against Cardiff City last weekend with Robert Tesche and Adams coming into the starting XI in place of Diego Fabbrini and Maghoma.

Like I mentioned earlier, I believe Rowett may shift the formation for the game at Elland Road with three midfielders coming into play and although Maikel Kieftenbeld played his part on Tuesday night against Oxford United, I think he may miss out on this game as Tesche looked the more complete of the two of them.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there will be a place on the bench this week for 18-year-old striker Jack Storer because of the changes that have been made but you never know!

Blues fans, do you agree with the prediction that has been made? Will Che Adams start down the middle with Clayton Donaldson on the left? Let us know your thoughts and predictions down in the comment section!
