As the season draws to a close, you would forgive a lot of Birmingham City fans for thinking we would still have something to play for with two games remaining.

However no one would have thought it would be at the wrong side of the table with blues fighting for survival after an appalling run of form which has seen the side pick up 13 points out of a possible 69.

Below are my thoughts of who will be shown the door in the summer if we do preserve our Championship status.

Adam Legzdins

He has struggled to make the number one spot his own ever since he was bought in by Gary Rowett in the summer of 2015.

He had his chance at the start of the season when Tomasz Kuszczak went off injured in the warm up at Reading but a few unconvincing performances seen him lose the jersey.

With Connal Trueman and Jake Weaver both signing new deals, I would think that they will be challenging Kuszczak for the number one shirt which may see Legzdins second spell at the club come to an end.

Paul Robinson

Robbo has been a fantastic servant for the club since his arrival in 2012 but at the age of 38, there are signs of him slowing up and it has been evident that he is struggling to cope with the pace of the game.

I believe that blues will look for fresh blood in the summer in which I also believe that Robbo will retire at the end of the season.

I am also a firm believer that Robbo will take up a role under Richard Beale with the U23’s.

Stephen Gleeson

Gleeson has struggled to break into the team in recent months with the likes of David Davis, Craig Gardner, Mikael Kieftenbeld and Robert Tesche all preferred in the central midfield role.

I think Gleeson’s time in B9 is coming to a close as I don’t think he has the ability to win back his place in the team and I also believe that whoever is in charge next season will be looking to improve our midfield as a whole.

Greg Stewart

The Scotsman has struggled to make an impact since he joined in the summer of 2016. He hasn’t had much luck with injuries but has struggled to nail down a place in the first team when available.

I believe that blues have better wingers at their disposal with the likes of Jacques Maghoma, Kerim Frei and even David Cotterill once he returns from his loan with Bristol City.

I believe Stewart will return to Scotland in the summer where he enjoyed a successful spell with Dundee.

Clayton Donaldson

Donaldson has been our top scorer for the last two seasons. He cemented the number nine role and has scored goals at very important times for the club.

However with the arrival of Lukas Jutkiewicz as well as being unlucky with injuries, Donaldson has fallen down the pecking order at St Andrews and with attacking reinforcements a priority in the summer it is likely that the Jamaican’s time at the club could be coming to an end.

Blues fans, what do you make of the five players who have been suggested to leave St.Andrews this summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
