Birmingham City welcome 23rd placed Bolton Wanderers to St.Andrews this evening, but guest writer Jason Peters highlights that we can`t take them for granted, despite many backing Gary Rowett`s side for a comfortable win.

Usually, when you play a team who are languishing towards to the foot of the table, many people expect teams like Blues to walk away with three easy points but in recent weeks Neil Lennon`s side have turned a corner, losing just one of their last five.

It was announced on Monday that the club had been taken over by Sport Shield Group, but they aren`t out of trouble yet with a 12 point penalty still possible if future court hearings don`t go to plan.

With the takeover now complete, there is an extra incentive for the Bolton players to go out there and stake a further claim to stay in the second tier of English football.

Lennon, who has European experience under his belt, is certainly the right man for me at this moment in time and slowly but surely he is clawing things back for the Trotters.

Yes, they may not be where they want to be, collectively as a club, but survival isn`t out of reach just yet and it isn`t a given that they will walk away from St.Andrews empty handed and their recent performances are one of the reasons why I think we need to be wary of them.

The squad that Bolton have at this moment in time isn`t one that deserves to be down at the bottom of the league table and they were unfortunate not to pick up a much needed three points last time out when they played against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Blues are now without a win in three games and if we want to stay in and around the play-offs then we really need to be beating teams like Wanderers, especially seen as we are at home!

In summary of the game ahead, Bolton is a must win fixture for Blues because if all three points aren`t picked up we could be eight points off sixth spot if Sheffield Wednesday win against QPR.

However, the match is also a must win for Lennon`s side because every point that they pick up at the moment is a valuable one, more so than points that Birmingham City pick up in some respect.
