Opinion: Blues would be scraping the barrel if they were to pursue player for a third time

|

Talk about scraping the barrel if we were to resurrect this move.

Wolves confirmed yesterday that they had released forward Bright Enobakhare, with the academy graduate now becoming a free agent. Enobakhare had been linked with us during last summer’s transfer window and was reported to have had a medical at St Andrew’s in the late stages of the January window, however on both occasions the move never materialised.

The suggestion that we should be considering a move for him has been subsequently shot down by the Birmingham City fans, and I have to say that I agree with them. Not because of his perceived bad attitude that some of the fans alluded to, but simply because we need to be aiming higher as a club.

Should we pursuing Enobakhare a third time?

Yes

No

This is a player who, as you can tell from his track record hasn’t exactly ‘lit it up’ in his career, and when he last had a somewhat consistent run in the team, with Coventry in League One, produced 6 goals in 18 games. Not exactly the record I’m looking for when it comes to moving forward as a club in the Championship.

If he’d been banging them in, I’d be willing to take the risk, especially on a free transfer, but even that isn’t enough to convince me that he’d be a good move for us. Much rather someone who has struggled in the Premier League and might find the Championship more to their liking, or better yet someone who is incredibly comfortable in this division *cough* Scott Hogan *cough*.

What about you? Do you agree with me and the large section of Birmingham City fans that don’t want this move to happen? Or do you think that there’s the chance he might be able to bring something to the team?
